Retro Bathroom Renovation
Located in Pukekohe, this renovation project focused on transforming a tired 1960s bathroom into a refreshed, functional space while staying mindful of budget
The original bathroom featured a dated shower box with a stainless steel tray, which became the key driver for the upgrade
Our team stripped the room back, retaining the original hardwood flooring. A new, larger acrylic shower was installed, paired with a back-to-wall corner bath - an ideal budget-friendly solution that achieves the look of a freestanding bath without the added cost
We installed half-height mosaic tiles in a rich army green, adding depth and a subtle retro feel to the space
To complete the renovation, the existing hardwood floors were sanded and recoated, bringing them back to life and adding warmth to the finished design
The end result is a bathroom that feels fresh and modern, while still staying true to the original charm of the home
"Smith & Sons Franklin fully renovated my 1960s bathroom and I'm very pleased with the work done. Cain was professional and managed the project with care and detail. All the tradesmen were high-quality and showed respect for my home which I much appreciated. The entire process including cost was transparent. I strongly recommend Smith & Sons."
