Seamless Pergola Extension Project

The homeowners of this charming Patumahoe property approached our team at Smith & Sons Franklin to extend their existing pergola on the backyard deck. They wanted the new addition to seamlessly blend with the current structure while also incorporating a few upgrades.

Our team extended the pergola by approximately 3.7 m along the deck, maintaining the original width. Laminated beams and posts were used to create a sturdy, lasting framework. The existing pergola roof was removed and replaced with grey-tinted Laserlite polycarbonate, covering the entire pergola and its new extension. The existing drop-down blind was relocated to the far end of the extension, and the Marley gutter was extended across the new section, with a downpipe installed beneath the deck. A Colorsteel flashing was added where the pergola meets the house for a neat finish.

This extension now provides ample space for both an outdoor lounge set and a dining table, creating a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the stunning rural views.
