Garage Conversion for Multiple Units – Queenstown
Smith and Sons Queenstown have been working with a repeat customer for three years on multiple projects in central Queenstown. The customer's goal was to create multiple accommodation spaces by utilising the ground floor garage and storage areas.
The first project was to convert a single car garage into a small studio unit with full bathroom. This included a full electrical fit out, new LED downlights, Heat pump, and mains board upgrade. We also installed a spacious bathroom with shower, vanity, toilet and heated towel rail. This was a perfect space for overnight and short-term guests.
The second project was converting a garage basement into a fully self-contained studio apartment. This had a brand new kitchen and bathroom at the rear of the unit separating it from the bedroom. This again required full electrical fit out including a heat pump for warmth, kitchen appliance install, bathroom fit out and mains board upgrade. This created a spacious place to stay for mid to long term guests.
The third project involved some upgrades to the existing first floor 2 bedroom unit. The unit received a new bathroom, slightly adjusted floor plan for the bedrooms to allow for new wardrobes in the bedrooms and new kitchen. Along with these big upgrades, a fresh coat of paint and some new carpet brought the unit up to modern day standards.
Our customer was so happy with the renovation of this unit, they moved in and also upgraded the deck to create a lovely sun-drenched space for afternoon entertaining. Working with long term customers is always great fun and we love to see what new projects they come up with.
