Full Exterior Reclad & Renovation | Pukekohe
The homeowner came to our team with approved plans to renovate their property in the Pukekohe area. Their goal was to future-proof their 1990s-built home, including recladding the entire exterior, replacing the existing joinery, and installing new foundations for the timber deck. The existing stucco plaster cladding, known for potential weathertightness issues, was replaced with A-Lign weatherboards which is a premium, modern timber cladding solution.
To complete the reclad, scaffolding was erected around the entire home and tented. During the removal of the old cladding, some remedial work was required, including the replacement of timber framing. All the joinery was replaced with new double-glazed aluminium windows. The roof tiles were partially replaced, along with new flashings. Additionally, the internal gutters, typical of 1990s construction, were converted to external gutters to improve the building’s watertightness. The building’s entire exterior received a fresh coat of paint, including the concrete roof tiles.
Since the existing deck at the rear of the property needed re-piling, we took the opportunity to refresh it, including installing new baseboards.
Additional stormwater drainage was required, including the installation of a new cesspit. To complete this work and tidy up the side of the house, a small retaining wall was constructed and a concrete path was laid around the perimeter of that section of the home.
Although a reclad is a complex project, careful planning and clear communication helped ensure a smooth delivery. The homeowner is very happy with the completed renovation and now has confidence in the long-term weathertightness and longevity of their property.
