About Us – Smith & Sons Central Otago
The Smith & Sons Central Otago franchise is owned and operated by Alex and Danni Kenyon. Alex became a qualified Carpenter 20 years ago in Devon UK, bringing his skills and knowledge to beautiful New Zealand 10 years ago and settling down here with his wife Danni, from Yorkshire UK.
They live in Cromwell, Central Otago, and love being part of the community and making the most of the NZ outdoor lifestyle. One of the reasons Alex and Danni emigrated to Central Otago was for the mountains, lakes and stunning views. They bring this love of the scenic view into their home renovations, with plenty of knowledge of ground and weather conditions to create a warm, modern home with the understanding of an outdoor living lifestyle. Alex prides himself on the quality workmanship he delivers and the positive client feedback his team continue to receive.
As a full-service renovation specialist, we use a 3 step process to help you Design, Plan and Construct the right renovation for your home and your budget. From conception to completion; the aim is to provide support, expertise and communication to ensure your dream comes true.

Central Otago is an area located in the inland part of the Otago region in the South Island of New Zealand
The area is dominated by mountain ranges and the upper reaches of the Clutha River and its tributaries. The wide flat plateau of the Maniototo which lies between the upper reaches of the Taieri River and the Clutha's northern tributary the Manuherikia is also part of Central Otago
The area is known for its cycle trails. The 150 km Otago Central Rail Trail follows the route of the old railway; cycling from station to station and staying in places little touched by modern hustle and bustle. The Roxburgh Gorge Trail and Clutha Gold Trail also offer unique experiences deep in the heart of Central Otago.
