Renovating to Sell your Home

To acheive a quick sale and the best value for your home on the property market a carefully considered renovation can often be the answer. Here we feature a recent property renovation which demonstrates just that. This solid 1960's house on Norman Street in Dunedin needed bringing into 2016 before the property owners put it on the market.

The house was owned by a couple who had rented it out for ten years while they were overseas. They decided to undertake a full house refresh including updating the kitchen, bathroom, toilet, laundry, lounge, bedrooms and hallways.  A new deck was also added to the rear of the property for modern indoor/outdoor living and the house was repainted inside and out.

The improvements took a tired, dated home and transformed it for today's living, creating a warm contemporary home. The neutral colour scheme allows prospective buyers to see the home as a blank canvas from which to visualise how they might live in the proeprty.

The clients were delighted with the result and with the ideas and project management provided by Smith & Sons Dunedin. Soon after the renovation was complete the owners put the property on the market as they wanted to invest in a newer and larger property, and it sold within four days.
